David Axelrod speaks on President Obama's views on Marriage Equality

President Obama, Where You At on Gay Marriage?

President Obama said in October his views on Gay Marriage was evolving. Since then, there has been a few marriage battles in the states. And as New York's quest for marriage hits a boiling point, everyone wants to know where does Obama stand?

I'm not going demand for Obama to tell me where he is in his evolution. The evolution process is different for everyone. But, I would like to know what's blocking his vision? I wish he could share his dilemma with us. It would be helpful to know what's stalling him.

However, this could be a ruse. With the nature of politics, he could be playing the 'I'm not sure' role until the election. But it is a risky play if this is the idea. Because he hasn't evolved, Obama's making some of his LGBT supporters very wary.

Now y'all know, I will continue to support him, but it would be nice to know what our president is thinking and feeling about this.Source URL: https://americanendeavor.blogspot.com/search/label/President%20Obama

Interesting Quote: Joe Solmonese

There can be no doubt that President Barack Obama has improved the lives of LGBT Americans more than any president in history. As with any movement for sweeping social change, our opponents have put up roadblocks along the way, but the president has been an unwavering ally who has delivered on promises both great and small. Much more remains to be done, which is why ensuring that President Obama is able to continue the forward momentum toward equality for another term must be a top priority of our community.

President Obama, it is Time

Months ago I wrote a post called, Who Made Gay Marriage the Battle of 2011? At the time, I thought folks were pushing it to the front of the priority list without everyone being on board.

But looking back, I realized that maybe I was wrong.

This has become the battle of the year, but not by our doing. We have seen the GOP attack gay marriage and civil unions with so much force. NOM has been touring and raising money to stop any possibility of gay marriage from happening in the states and we've seen the return of constitutional amendments to ban gay marriage all together. With this kind of attack why wouldn't we respond.

It's been amazing to watch these battles, mainly because of the changes we are seeing in the public. The approval of gay marriage is growing, more folks are no longer proud to be labeled bigots. But the vigor of our opponents is mind boggling. They continue to spread lies and malicious tactics to push their agenda forward. They are truly dividing our country; putting forth hate and discrimination ahead of job security and health care.

With that said, I think it's time to see our leader come out and lead.

President Obama should step into this battle. He should say that he will end DOMA and push for the repeal. With him, the message will tickle down and cause true change. I know some you will be surprised by my stance, but I think it's time for President Obama to get down with the throw down. We are close to killing this (anti-gay marriage) thing, it would be nice if he shared some his heavy arsenal to do it.

So President Obama, or what I like to call him, "Boo". We need you, please join us.Source URL: https://americanendeavor.blogspot.com/search/label/President%20Obama

Obama: Made in the USA

Capitalizing on the birther foolishness, President Obama's campaign are selling MADE IN THE USA T-shirts.

The Obama campaign is selling T-shirts on its website that show Obama's face on the front along with the words "Made in the USA."

On the back is an image of the president's long-form birth certificate from Hawaii — the one the White House finally produced in April in an attempt to squelch the "birthers" who claim Obama is not a natural-born U.S. citizen, and therefore ineligible to be president.

Starting price for the T-shirts — described on the website as "limited edition" — is $25.
It's cute, but I want one in Black or Azure

Interesting Quote: Rush Limbaugh

"We need to open the program today by congratulating President Obama. President Obama has done something extremely effective, and when he does, this needs to be pointed out."

"Our military wanted to go in there and just scorch the earth...but President Obama single-handedly understood what was at stake here. He alone understood the need to get DNA to prove the death...it was President Obama single-handedly and alone who came up with the strategy that brought about the effective assassination of Osama bin Laden, thank God for President Obama."

Was that Rush congratulating President Obama? Hera help me.

GOP Leaders Downplay President Obama's role in Bin Laden's death

Osama Bin Laden's death has Republican leaders kind of in a tizzy. While they are glad for the news, they are not too crazy about President Obama's getting the praise. In fact, check out some of their responses to the matter starting with Mike Huckabuck...

“It has taken a long time for this monster to be brought to justice. Welcome to hell, bin Laden. Let us all hope that his demise will serve notice to Islamic radicals the world over that the United States will be relentless in tracking down and terminating those who would inflict terror, mayhem and death on any of our citizens."

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney gave Obama credit without mentioning his name, thanking “our intelligence community, our military and the president.”

Former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty thanked Obama only after mentioning Bush first.
“In the hours after the 9/11 attacks, President Bush promised that America would bring Osama bin Laden to justice -- and we did. I want to congratulate America's armed forces and President Obama for a job well done,” Pawlenty said.

Former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum gave credit to “all those involved.”

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.), another 2012 hopeful, had not issued any statements on the matter as of Monday morning.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) did not mention the president, saying that America was “grateful for the heroic efforts of the many men and women around the world who have fought and who are still fighting to protect the world from terrorism. Though they may never make the headlines, we are ever mindful of their many sacrifices.”

House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) thanked Obama after the military and additionally thanked Bush.
“I want to congratulate -- and thank -- the hard-working men and women of our Armed Forces and intelligence community for their tireless efforts and perseverance that led to this success. I also want to commend President Obama and his team, as well as President Bush, for all of their efforts to bring Osama bin Laden to justice,” Boehner said.

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) said Obama had “followed the vigilance of President Bush in bringing Bin Laden to justice.”

Dick Cheney, Bush's former vice president, praised the U.S. military and intelligence community, but added: "I also want to congratulate President Obama and the members of his national security team."
I guess this is no surprise. They know Obama's numbers will skyrocket, making it twice as hard to run against him.  Oh well.

RNC uses their Website to Attack President Obama on LGBT Issues

Within hours of President Obama's reelection announcement, the RNC wasted no time in slamming him, especially for his LGBT support.

    Metro Weekly reports:
"Hope Isn't Hiring," a new site launched by the RNC includes a page of talking points on social issues, taking aim several times at Obama's record on LGBT equality.

Among the topics are "Despite It Being The Law Of The Land, Obama Refused To Continue To Defend The Defense Of Marriage Act In Court"; "Obama Repealed Don't Ask Don't Tell While U.S. Troops Are Still On The Battlefield"; and "Obama Opposed California's Prop 8 And Has Expanded Government Recognition Of Same-Sex Couples."

Regarding the government recognition of same-sex couples, the RNC specifically targets hospital visitation rights, noting "Obama Issued An Executive Order Allowing Same Sex Couples Hospital Visitation Rights."

The RNC also claims in that section of the new site that "Obama Has Been Acting On Policy Recommendations From The Human Rights Campaign Since Taking Office."
Here are some of their highlights
