An official casting notice for the film cites Sacha Baron Cohen, Paul Giamatti, Meryl Streep and Reese Witherspoon-- all in the same film!-- as the main cast.
That would be enough to pique pretty much anyone's interest, but Payne as the director seems almost too good to be true. Hollywood Elsewhere printed the casting info with a note that a source close to the production says the casting is by no means final.
Downsizing is a pretty perfect title for any comedy of the moment, and Payne has already proven himself so adept at satirizing American neuroses that we pretty much require him to come back and tease us about our pink slip fears. Here's hoping this dream cast actually gets to become a reality".
