YG Entertainment has stated that they will be opening online auditions to aspiring stars on January 28. From there, finalists will be asked to perform for Yang Hyunsuk himself in Korea.
Although YGE has been known for not holding open auditions in the past, they have decided to open them up starting in June. In fact, the management company recently decided to extend the number of open auditions they would be accepting due to heavy crashes on their official audition website, which led to server crashes.
YGE is now focusing on finding aspiring stars all across Asia – starting in Korea, they will then travel to Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
A representative for YG Auditions stated, “We like how people can show their strong talents in a short amount of time [through open auditions.] If they don’t have confidence because they only have one talent, working harder to show a variety of talents will produce a good result.”
